Reflections of Her Life

Willie (Willa) Mae Hamilton, fondly called “Nat”, was born on May 16, 1948, unto Milton Hamilton Jr. and Maggie Mae Webster Hamilton in Batesville, MS. She was the fourth child of ten children. The family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Willa eventually made it her home. She continued her education by attending Carver and Booker T. Washington High School.

Willa spent 20 plus years as a key punch operator for Telex Corporation until the company dissolved the positions. She gained employment with Wal-Mart Corporation until she retired in 2013.

Willa had four children, Debbie, Tia, Warrez and Marlo, whom she loved dearly. After moving on with her life, Willa married her partner to the end, Napoleon “Chuck” Midget. Chuck and Willa knew that they had something special, and it would last a lifetime. The two of them found joy in serving their Lord and Savior together on Sunday mornings.

Willa’s love was unmatchable. Whether partaking in her role as a caregiver, cheerleader, listening ear, or a pillar of strength for her ever-growing family, she was always giving of herself without expecting anything in return. The unconditional love Willa relentlessly poured out to her family, was felt by all her loved ones until the very end. Her caring, maternal tendency was experienced by not only her children, but all who were blessed enough to encounter her nurturing spirit.

Willa’s smile was renowned. The beautiful sound and contagiousness of her laughter will never be forgotten. Her humor could brighten up any room. Her presence was the highlight of many of our lives. The void left by the loss of Willa will be felt by the copious amount of people who knew and loved her for years to come.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Maggie Hamilton; her brothers, Robert McKinney, Jr. and Harry Hamilton; her sisters, Juanita Herrion, Joyce Jones, and Allie Vee White; and her grand and great-granddaughter, Daphne and Kelis Jones-Kendall.
