Obituary
Willie Leon Rolland, age 78 was born the second child of 7 children. He was born to Emma Holman & Cecil J Rolland.
Willie who preferred to be called Rolland graduated from Booker T. Washington Highschool class of 1965. He went on to further his education and skills at Jacob’s Creek Job corps. Learned culinary arts and graduated June of 1968.
Willie met the love of his life while he was in Bristol Tennessee, Linda E. Brown, and they were married on February 14, 1969. This union was blessed with 4 children, Angela, Cornell, Trevor, and Tanieka. They were devoted and in love with one another for almost 30 years until the passing of his wife Linda. Willie and Linda accepted Christ as a couple and began to grow their faith as a couple under leadership of Elder Black at Grace Fellowship church. Willie felt the call of God on his life and became involved in the usher board ministry serving for years and eventually becoming the head of the usher board. From there he felt there was a need in the helps and eventually went into the couples ministry with his wife by his side. Willie was instrumental in helping to establish and be a leader in the ministry of help at Love Center Christian Fellowship under the leadership of the late Pastor Bill & Joyce Gardner. Later he went on to help establish Redeeming Faith Ministry.
Willie had many Accomplishments that are too great to mention but, his greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Willie loved to cook, and rolls, dressing, and sweet potato pies will live on in the hearts of many.
Willie was devout in his faith and attended Sunday morning services faithfully. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Unity Temple Family Church in Inola under leadership of Pastor & First Lady Cotton.
Willie leaves to cherish him 4 children Angela & Claude Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cornell & wife Karen of Bartlesville Oklahoma, Trevor Rolland Tulsa Oklahoma, and Tanieka Blades of Fort Smith Arkansas.13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 1 sister Rose Carr of Tulsa Oklahoma, 2 brothers Floyd Edwards and Lawrence Holmes and wife Beverly of Atlanta Georgia. Lots of Nieces, Nephews, and a host of spiritual sons, Daughters and friends.
Poppa as he was called by his grands and children will live on in the hearts and minds of each one he touched.
