Weldon Taylor

May 29, 1927 - March 14, 2022

Obituary

On May 29, 1927, BenJermin and Ella Taylor welcomed their 10th, and last child, who they named Weldon Taylor.

The family originated in Paris, Arkansas and later moved to Wagner, Oklahoma, and then to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where Weldon met and married Mildred Stewart-Taylor. To this union, 10 children were born. Together they raised their family in Bufford Colony
until Mildred’s untimely passing when their youngest child was only 2. After Mr. Weldon Taylor raised his last-born child, he left Buford Colony. Several years later he married Mrs. Evalyn Price.

In 1941, Weldon joined the United States Army. Upon his return from the military, he was hired at Empire Finery in Sand Springs, OK. Due to his dependable and loyal character, Weldon soon held the position as Supervisor. He later began his venture as an entrepreneur. Upon his retirement, Weldon had built a successful, 3 generational family business.

Weldon was always an awesome daddy, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, and
great-great grandpa. He was truly a great man. If you ever had the honor of meeting him, you could attest to how wonderful he really was. He always left a lasting impression. He was also, most definitely, a Christian and very Godly man. He would always say, “I’m just who you see. I am who I am. No more. No less” and that he “was going to stay on the battlefield for my Lord.”

Weldon was called to his Heavenly Home on Monday, March 14, 2022. He was preceded in the death his mother and father, BenJermin and Ella Taylor, first wife, Mildred Taylor, children, Weldon Taylor, Jr., Sammy Taylor, Elmer Taylor, Danny Taylor, Lonnie Taylor, Melvin Taylor, and Leon Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, three children: Brenda Taylor of Oklahoma City, OK., Granville Taylor of Tulsa, OK., and BenJermin Taylor of Buford Colony, OK.

A wake service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St., Tulsa, OK 74104.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 25, 11:00 a.m., at Sandtown Cemetery, Wagoner, Oklahoma.
