Welcome to the World

Oh, what a beautiful morning Monday, September 10, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma for Tiller & Geneva Watson. A handsome baby boy was born, they named him Tiller Son Watson, Jr.

Welcome to Learning

His formal education included attending Dunbar & Emerson Elementary, Roosevelt Jr. High and graduating in the Central High School Class of 1969. He furthered his education at Langston University, graduating with a BA degree in 1973.

Welcome to Love

He was introduced to love in the fall of 1973 when he met a young lady by the name of Pamela Jean Johnson. They became best friends. Then to enhance their friendship, they became life partners that lasted 46 years!!! To this union they welcomed five sons, James, III (Hazel), Tiller, III (LaTricia), Emeka, Darius (Brittany), Christopher (Lakeisha). Family was everything to him. He loved his family and enjoyed precious moments with them.

Welcome to the Workforce

Over the years he held employment with Doenges Brothers Ford, Burroughs Machinery and American Beauty Products. Through growth and experience, he evolved into becoming his own BOSS. Among all his achievements, service, community and church, he was honored with the Tom Joyner “Father of the Year Award” in 2015.

Welcome to Faith

He was a long-time member of Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T.C Morris, Rev. C. Smith, Rev. LL Tisdale and Rev. Weldon. Tisdale, serving in a host of capacities including a Trustee for many years. He then united with Vision Outreach Center under the leadership Rev. William Tisdale where he continued his faithful service in multiple roles. He continued his spiritual journey at St. Paul Baptist Church until his passing.

Tiller was preceded in death by his loving parents, Tiller Jr. and Geneva, his siblings, Author, Floyd and Carmen; granddaughter, Tayler and grandson Christopher Jr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife, Pamela Jean, his Fab Five, his sisters, Carylon, Ann, Paulette (Dale) brother, Todd (Cheryl) Bennie(Cathy); mother-in-law, Nora Chaney, sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn, Maria (Gideon) Trina (Willie), Stacy (Admiral); brothers-in-law, Michael (Tenisha), Wayne (Dedria) and Tony, 13 gems in the form of grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces/great-nephews/great-nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services for Tiller Watson, Jr 68, of Tulsa, Oklahoma were held at 11:00 am Saturday October 5, 2019 at Friendship Church: 1709 North Madison, Tulsa, OK.

Burial will follow at Snake Creek Cemetery in Bixby, Oklahoma. “Visitation will be Friday October 4, 2019 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home 2103 East 3rd Street Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.
