Obituary

Theresa Jean Dixon was born on Friday, August 31, 1956, to Christine E. and James B. Dixon. Theresa was the 6th child of ten children. She grew up in Tulsa, OK and attended Tulsa Public Schools, graduating from McClain Senior High School in 1974. Shortly after graduating high school, she married Frederick Bell, Sr. She further educated herself by attending Tulsa Community College and National American University. Theresa accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized by the late Rev. Burkhalter and was attending In The Spirit Christian Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma under the spiritual leadership of Apostle Sharyn Crosby.

Theresa was a Habilitation Training Specialist for people with disabilities for over 27 years, until she was no longer able to care for herself. She was employed by companies that were dedicated to assisting individuals in their independent living goals and daily activities.

If you knew Theresa, you knew she was the life of the family. She was warm-hearted, caring and kept an enthusiastic laugh. She was affectionately known as “Grammie”.
She was loving but firm and never held her tongue when there was a need for her to speak out or for something to be said.

Theresa enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, fishing, cooking and traveling. She really enjoyed spending time in California with her family and couldn’t wait to move there permanently.

She was a firm believer in God and trusted God in all things for her life and for those whom she loved. She never met a stranger and she will be truly missed.

Theresa is preceded in death by both her parents James B. Dixon Sr. and Christine E. Dixon; Two sisters, Marquette “Belinda” Dixon and Marilyn E. Dixon and her son, Kenneth E. Bell.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeannetta J. Bell-Williams (Tolbert) of Bakersfield, CA., Frederick A.
