Obituary

On December 13, 1980, the world, Marcie Evans and Tracy Hooks welcomed a beautiful bouncing baby boy.  They would name him, Terence Lamar Hooks

Growing up in Tulsa, Terence attended Tulsa Public Schools. He attended Emerson Elementary, Madison Junior High, Central High School and East Central High School. While attending school he played basketball and enjoyed wrestling.

Trying his hand at rapping, Terence became known as T. Hooks.  using his mind to create lyrics to move your mind and your feet, T. Hooks became known on the local set here in Tulsa for his rhyming abilities.  He was his own boss, working in various fields as a laborer. He knew a lot about everything and was not afraid of hard work.

Family over everything was not just a slogan for Terence, it was his way of life.  He was the proud father of four bautiful children,  Zyan, Cheyenne, Christian and Yohan. If you talked to his daughters, they would tell you that “no matter what our age was, he made sure we knew, we were loved.” Putting himself last was never hard for Terence.  Being a great father came easy. He never met a stranger and he was kind to everyone.  He was a simple person who loved everyone and everything about life.

Life has a way of creating a space for us, for our legacy and our dreams and that was Terence, a space creator.  A dream builder, a holder for love, a son, a father, brother, a friend, a music maker, a lover of fun and a lover of life.

As he walks into the gates of heaven, waiting for him will be his aunt, Pam Hooks.

Cherishing his memories and his legacy will be his mother, Marcie Evans; children, Zyan Hooks, Cheyenne Hooks, Christian Hooks and Yohan Hooks; siblings, Tory (Nija) Hooks, Miguel Evans, Amber Evans, and Hailee Evans; Grandmothers, Gracie Caddy and Jewel Hooks; Aunts, Kim Hooks, Sharon Hooks and Carla Caddy- Adkism; Uncles, Timothy Hooks and Duna (Ann) Hooks.  And a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation for Mr. Hooks will be held on Thursday, June 23, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St., Tulsa, OK 74104.
