  1. Mildred would always check on me and I would check on her throughout the day! During meetings we would catch each other’s eye, and hers would always be twinkling! She loved Coffeemate and a great steak! I will always remember her handing out Mardi Gras beads! I will miss you daily, Ms. N!!!! Ms. B.

  2. Mrs. Nash was a wonderful teacher at Thoreau when 3 of our children were there. She always had a bright welcoming smile for any student who might need her help. She made such a lasting impression on so many Timberwolf kids and a great contribution to their educations. She made each of them feel capable of achievement and valued for who they were as individuals. Not to mention how effectively she interacted with Thoreau parents. Running into her over the years at various stores was always such a happy surprise. The world is a dimmer place now that she has gone to her heavenly reward. My sincere sympathy to all of her family. What a treasure Mrs. Nash was!

  4. Mildred was simply the best. She loved Thoreau and Thoreau loved and cherished her. She would stop by our room for lunch or just to catch up. If you were having a hard day she would make you smile and assure you that it would all be okay because God is on our side. She always made me smile and I always felt better after talking with her. Mildred will be so very missed. Words can’t express what a treasure of a person she was. My deepest condolences to her family and friends and all the teachers, students, and their families that were blessed to have had her over the years. Rest In Peace Mildred. Love you with all my heart, Stephanie.

  5. It was indeed a priviledge to have Mildred as my upstairs neighbor for 8 years. She was a delightful person, we met the day i moved in 8 years ago. my son Jay carried her packages up the steps for her that first day and enjoyed helping her every time he could. She was most kind to me when my husband passed. That is just who she was. We laughed together, prayed for each other, shared Pepsi diet only and she brought me Popeyes chicken now and then along with fish from the Delta Cafe. She stopped in to sit a spell after school most days, we chatted, watched a little TV. I will miss her very much, think of her often. She is with God now in her heavenly home, singing with the angels Rest in peace dear friend. Marlene
