Mable was born on September 21, 1934, to Charlie and Sarah Jones in St. Morris Louisiana. She was the eldest child of two born to this union; having a brother Granville “Cleveland” Jones who precedes her in death.

Her parents moved to Tulsa when she was in elementary. She attended Dunbar Elementary, Carver Junior High and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1953. For many years, she served as President of the Booker T. Washington High school Mighty class of 1953 where she loved planning events and reunions for her class.

In high school, she met and married Gene Jones Sr. and from their union three beautiful children were born; Gene Jr., Gwendolyn Elaine and Kenneth Wayne Jones.

At an early age, she turned her life over to Christ by attending church with her parents at Rose Hill Baptist which merged into Morning Star Baptist Church. Mable and her parents were life-long members of Morning Star. She enjoyed serving in the United Friends, WMU, T. Oscar Chappell Scholarship, Culinary Services and volunteering at the Food Bank.

She worked for Tulsa Public School system for over 30 years in food services working at Carver Middle School. After retiring from Tulsa Public Schools, she worked for Sodexo. Through her time at Tulsa Public School she would touch many lives and make lifelong friendships.

Mable was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, LeAnna Knox; parents, Sarah and Charlie Jones; husband, Gene Jones, Sr.; brother, “Cleveland” Jones and son, Kenneth Wayne Jones.

On December 18, 2020 our Lord and Savior called Mable L. Jones home.
