Reflection of Linda’s Life

Linda A. Arnold was in Hugo, Oklahoma on September 7, 1944 to the late Patsy Gilleylen and Nolan Arnold.

Linda received education in Hugo, Oklahoma and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1963. She later attended Tulsa Junior College where she received her Associate Degree.

Linda married her high school sweetheart, Floyd Adkism and they later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born.

Having an extremely outgoing personality, she never met a stranger. She would give you the shirt off her back. She loved everyone. Linda’s spirit was kind and her heart was gold.

Working at MAPCO for over twenty years, she enjoyed her work. Linda would later work at St. Johns Hospital until her passing. Because she loved life and people, Linda loved her part-time job at JCPenny’s where she was employed for over 35 years.

Upon moving to Tulsa, Linda joined Galilee Baptist Church, she worshipped there until God saw fit to call her home. Serving in many capacities, she was a member of the Usher Board where she also had served as the President for many years. Assisting in the Finance Room and any place that the church needed help, she was willing. One of the greatest memories of hers, was when she escorted the Governor of the State of Oklahoma, down to the front of the church.

Linda was preceded in death by both parents, both grandparents and one sister.

Linda was blessed to love and be loved by so many. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her three loving children, Tonya of Texas, Peggy of Florida and Donnie of Oklahoma. Four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Carlin, Donva and Donaynn and four great grandchildren. Two brothers, Nolan (Carol) of Alabama and Eugene (Betsy) of Mississippi. Three sisters, Teresa and Lynn (Norris) both of Mississippi, Greta of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a host of other family, friends and her special child, Debo.
