Obituary

Cynthia Lynn Buggs of Tulsa, Oklahoma joined the Angels in heaven leaving her earthly pain behind. Cynthia was born January 26, 1965, to Odelia and Levi Buggs and passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021. From the time she was a small child everyone in the family affectionately called her by her nickname, Soodie.

Cynthia grew to be a lovely young lady. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1978 at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church. Cynthia graduated from Central High School and attended Northeastern University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She worked as an X-Ray technician at various Tulsa hospitals for many years and finally worked at The Lift Program for handicap individuals until her health declined.

Unfortunately her health failed her fairly early in life. Despite her health struggles Cynthia did everything she could to provide for her children and grandchild. She often kept the family laughing at get-togethers and in personal phone calls with her engaging wit, stories and the one of a kind advice that only Cynthia could give.

Cynthia’s friendly demeanor made her the bridge between the families. When anything was going on in the family everyone called Cynthia. Cynthia loved meeting new people and trying new restaurants and she always loved to shop.  Cynthia was loved and cherished by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.

She was proceeded in death by her father Levi T. Buggs.

She leaves to cherish her memories, dearest daughter Franchelle M. Buggs, beloved son Reginald J. Hawkins and precious granddaughter Deyonshay D. Commander; loving Mother Odelia M. Buggs, three sisters, Pamela (Jerry) Minor; Stephanie (Clarence) Williams of Tulsa and Christi Olaosebikan of Texas; three brothers Levi (LaRonda) Buggs of Tulsa, Stephen Buggs of Claremore and Randy Buggs of Tulsa and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private family services will be held.

If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.

Ms. Cynthia was my best friends mother. She was a sweet intelligent lady. She cheered you on when you where doing great things and told you about yourself when you were messing up. She loved my mother (her best friend), my children and I will never forgot her for that. She will truly be missed. I know she is resting with the Lord now.
