Obituary

Angel Latonda Mayes Harris was born October 26, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, to loving parents, Helen L. Mayes-Gilmore and William Eason, both of whom precede her in death. Angle attended the East St. Louis School District 189 where she graduated with the Lincoln Senior High School Class of 1981. After high school, she attended State Community College in East St. Louis where she obtained CNA certification. Later, she attended Venice Technical School to receive a certificate in Office Management. She also worked as a Maintenance Coordinator for Spann Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri.

Angel had a love for to singing, dancing, reading stories and writing poems. Loving all music, she had a special place for the blues and gospel music. Another thing she loved was people. Angel loved people and telling them jokes to make them laugh and smile. She was often the centered of attention. Her poetry and her cursive writing were things that often garnered her lots of praise. She was great at both.

Angel was an active member of the St. Paul Baptist Church of East St. Louis for many years. As a member of the youth choir, Angel would often be a soloist. In 2013, she and her daughter moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she united with the Vision Family Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Bill Davis.

Her two daughters, Crystal and Jada, were her heartbeat. She truly loved them and would often participate in activities with them.

She was preceded in death by her son, Quintin Jeremiah Harris; parents, and two sisters, Casandra Mayes and Kim Cox.

She will be affectionately missed by her two daughters, Crystal and Jada; three sisters, Pastor Prophetess Cheryl L. Woodiest, and Evetta (Larry) E. Brooks of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Yolanda Rayford of East St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Courtney Mayes (Pastor Prophetess Djunna)of O’Fallon, Illinois; three aunts, Ethel Warren and Phyllis Mayes of O’Fallon, Illinois and Ruth Mayes of Belleville, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Services for Ms. Angel LaTonda Harris 57, of Tulsa, Oklahoma Custodial will be 11:00AM Tuesday Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 2037 N. Utica Ave Tulsa, Oklahoma 74110 with Senior Pastor Michael Jackson, Eulogist.
