Obituary

“Goodnight see you in the morning, Daughter”

“On Wednesday May 15, 2019 Mrs. Tammy L. Liggins in Pawnee, Oklahoma answered to master’s calling to come and lay her burdens down.”

On September 4, 1968, a bouncing baby girl was born to the union of Agnes Gaines Rentie and Woodrow Rentie and they named her Tammy Lawaun. Tammy was the 6th child of 7 children born to the family.

Tammy’s entry into this world was an exciting addition to this family and she was greatly loved from the very beginning.

Tammy’s earliest childhood experiences began when she attend school at Tulsa Public Schools first at Alcott Elementary, on to Gilcrease Middle school and then became a roaring Scot at Raymond S. McLain High School. She was a graduate of the class of 1986. From there Tammy attend CC’s Cosmetology school and upon completion of the requirements of her program, became a licensed cosmetologist.

Throughout her life, Tammy worked in various different fields including home health care.

Tammy’s greatest accomplishment and great love of her life came in the form a beautiful daughter born in 1985. Tammy was a loving, dedicated mother to her one and only daughter, MonToya Monique. She treasured her daughter and embraced every moment with her.

Tammy met and married Charles Liggins in June 2012. She remained with Charles until his untimely departure 2016.

Tammy loved life! She experienced many great things while on her journey here on this earth, including traveling to many, many places. She was never afraid or fearful to take a car ride or airplane anywhere! Tammy was the life of any event and always did her best to make sure that everyone around her not only enjoyed themselves but knew that she loved them not by her words only but through her actions!

On May 15, 2019, Tammy departed her earthen body and is now dancing in her heavenly clothes as only could be prepared for a queen by the Almighty King Himself.

Tammy was escorted into the pearly gates by her loving mother Agnes Madden. Meeting her there also was her father, Woodrow Rentie. She was reunited at the gates by her husband, Charles Liggens, loving nephew, Johnny Paul Dabney, Jr., favorite aunt Alice Brantley, cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other loved ones gone on before her.

Tammy leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter Montoya (Deontae Thomas), grandchild Ashaunti Thomas, her beloved MiMi; her siblings: Sherri Rentie, Marcus (Louella) Madden, Sandra K. Dabney, Lisa Rentie, Michael (Tammie) Rentie, Eric (Tonya) Rentie; Special brother/cousin Steven Murrell, her special friend, Rather Powell, best friends, Helen Dixon, Cynthia Byrd, Tewanna Napier and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
