Obituary

On May 28^th, Roy Lee and Rose Mary Smith were blessed with their first daughter they thoughtfully named Robbin (Famed) Marie (wished-for child). From her beginning, Robbin was a strong leader who shared a special and protective bond with each of her nine siblings. As part of a large family, she also shared unique bonds with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Robbin attended Tulsa Public Schools and was a proud graduate from McLain High School in 1977. Home of the “Scotts.”

As a young adult Robbin gave birth to her first son Lamont and devotedly raised him with the help of her family. As time passed, she met and married Albert Ross Sr. resulting in the blessed addition of Ebony and Albert Jr. For many years to come Albert and Robbin together treasured and nurtured three exceptional children resulting in a strong and loving family bond. Although the marriage at long last dissolved, Robbin and Albert Sr. remained lifelong friends successfully co-parenting their beautiful family.

When it came to cooking she was most definitely her mother’s daughter. Robbin could BURN!!! On any given day one could enter a kitchen graced with the soulful aromas of Robbin’s incomparable cooking. Preparing elaborate meals for family and friends was like a ministry and brought her so much joy.

A nurturer since birth, Robbin would rescue birds with injured wings and nurse them back to health. She possessed the uncanny ability to soothe pain and uplift spirits. Even when her health began to decline, this beautiful BLACK Queen was willing to extend herself offering love and support to those in need. She was a “ROCK“! It’s no surprise she had a successful career in the home health field. Her clients significantly benefited from her caring heart and motherly nature. “This Black Girl Rocked”!!

This amazing Servant of God held many titles and excelled in them all: Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Niece, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, will be greatly missed. Her presence has impacted us all and not a day will go by that she isn’t in our thoughts. Fly Robbin Fly

She was preceded in death by her father Roy Lee Smith and brothers, Roy Lester and Randy Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Mother, Rose Marie Smith; her children, Lamont Smith,Eboni Ross, Albert Ross, Jr.;Brothers, Roy Leonard, Reginald, Rodrick, Steven, & Chris Shields; Sisters, Rhonda & Stephanie; grandchildren Lamont Jr., Rakiah, Isaiah, Harmony, Lauren Ross, and Skylar McCalister along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be Friday September 14, 2018 at 1:00pm Metropolitan Baptist Church 1228 West Apache Street Tulsa, Oklahoma 74127. Their will be no Public Viewing.
