Obituary

Mary L. Davis was born June 15, 1927 to Martha West and Edward Pruitt. She was the youngest of two children. She received her primary and secondary education in Tulsa Public Schools.

In 1946, she married Allen James Davis and to this marital union, thirteen children were born.

Mary began her religious journey at Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of M.D. Johnson. In 1966, she became a member of Antioch Baptist church under the leadership of C.L. Potter and later M. C. Potter, where she would remain for over 50 years. During her time at Antioch she served in the Mission and sang in the Senior Choir.

Throughout her life she worked as a day laborer and a CNA. It was as a CNA, where she found her calling. She work at St. John’s Medical Center in this capacity for 29 years, retiring in 1993. She was a nurses nurse. Even when she was not working, she was known to nurse various family and friends when they became ill, including her ex-husband in his final days.

On July 24, 2018, Mary received her wings and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister, Ruby; five of her children, James, Clark Sr., Gerald, John and Joan; granddaughters, Roshonia Diane Davis and Stephanie Combs; great-grandchildren, Roderick D. Starks and Amani Alese Horn.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Brenda Harbin, Tulsa, OK; Robert Davis, Tulsa, OK; Gregory (Darlene) Davis, San Antonio, TX.; Geraldine (Gene) Biree, Tulsa, OK; Christopher Davis; Tulsa, OK; Ronald Davis, Tulsa, OK; Joseph Davis, Tulsa, OK; and Kenneth Davis, Tulsa, OK, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00pm Antioch Baptist Church 110 West 56th Street North with Senior Pastor M.C.Potter, Eulogist.

Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Visitation will be Saturday 9:00am til 4:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm til 6:00pm you may pay your respect as she slumber at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home 2103 East 3rd Street Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.
