Obituary

Lovie D. Lankster – McFarlin, 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on July 21, 2018.

Lovie was born on November 2, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Archie and Lovie Mae Stanley-Lankster, who both preceded her in death.

Lovie graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1953. She continued to be actively involved with her classmates and enjoyed the class activities throughout her life. She had a close relationship with God and attended Victory Christian Center and Greenwood Christian Center.

She was married to Roy Lee McFarlin, Sr. of Bee Branch, Arkansas, on March 27, 1955. They were married 23 years and raised 3 children. Roy Senior passed away on November 13, 1978.

Lovie worked as a home health care provider for several years until retirement. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining family and friends, community volunteering, serving others, and listening to praise and worship music. She was actively engaged in attending church and sporting events of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a very loving, generous, and caring heart. Lovie had a great sense of humor, was tender and lighthearted. She was the strength of our family.

Lovie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and siblings, Opal, Wallace, Thomas, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Solomon, Archie, and Reginald.

Lovie is survived by her children: Roy Lee McFarlin, Jr., his wife, Sandra of Oceanside, CA, Albirda Renae McFarlin – Square of Tulsa, OK, and Sandra Kay McFarlin – Richardson of Tulsa, OK; 7 grandchildren, DaKeyah, Dawnn, Ashley, J.P., Candace, Jeremiah, and Simon; 6 great grandchildren, Jaiden, Titus, Tenley, Kaden, Aniyah, and Asher. Lovie had 13 siblings. Her surviving siblings are June Dixon, Lottie Cadell, Dorothy Kaufman, Wallace Wendell Lankster, Diane Anderson and several cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends

Her Graveside service will be Monday 10:00am Crown Hill Cemetery and Memorial Services will be 12:00 noon Victory Christian Center 7700 South Lewis Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136.
