Obituary

“Until Then”

Lecretia Davis

On, January 30, 1973, a beautiful baby girl was born to Lonnie Davis, Sr. and Sheila Davis in Topeka, Kansas. She was named Lacrecia Michelle Davis and was affectionately nicknamed by her family as “Crecia”. Lacrecia attended Tulsa Public Schools and Tulsa Community College where she received her Associates degree in Social Work. At a very young age Lacrecia accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by Rev. Reuben Phillips at Greater Sunrise Baptist Church.

After accepting Christ, Crecia was actively involved in the ministry and served faithfully in several capacities in the church but her heart and passion lead her to minister to children. To say Crecia loved children was an understatement. She was always surrounded by children. She poured into every child’s life she encountered spiritually and physically teaching them the word of God, how to pray, sing, dance, and always cooking a good home meal. When Lacrecia’s niece MyKayla, her “twin” was born, a special bond was created. Mykayla was always with her auntie and many thought they were mother and daughter. Crecia was told that she wouldn’t be able to have children, but in spite of what the doctors said Crecia believed and on June 22, 2004 she gave birth to her “promise”, Lamonte Elsworth Jackson, Jr. who was the love of her life.

As a young adult, Lacrecia worked as a caregiver for disabled youth. She also volunteered and was employed at John 3:16 for several years. On September 30, 2019 Lacrecia quietly departed this life and went home to be with the Lord. Lacrecia was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Lacrecia leaves to cherish her memories her son, Lamonte E. Jackson Jr.; Four (4) Brothers – Leonard Harvey, Tulsa, OK; Mark (Stephanie) Harvey, Dallas, TX, Lonnie Davis and Dameon Lundy, Tulsa, OK; Three (3) sisters, Margaret Shorter, Fort Worth, TX, Tamesa Davis Altamonte Springs, Florida, and Danielle Dumas Tulsa, OK; Her special friend Ricky Nelson and the Nelson family, Jasmine and Jameese Scales; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and god children who will miss her.
