Obituary

Morris Lee Thompson Jr. 53, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Monday June 17, 2019. Born to Betty B. and Morris L. Thompson Sr., Morris was the youngest of the two, Treece Thompson-Shaver (sister). Morris attended Tulsa public schools. It was at McLain High School he met the love of his life Phyllis (Simpson) Thompson. The two married and had two children Morreshia and Morris (Tre). Morris worked for Continental Industries for over 10 years. He accepted Christ at an early age. He is proceeded in death by his father Morris L. Thompson Sr. , Aunt Joann Atkins, cousin/brother Ronald Atkins, and close friend Carl Joseph.

Morris was also known to most as BIG MO. He was always the life of the party. If you met Big Mo you met a genuine friend. He enjoyed life to the fullest. There was never a dull moment if Big Mo was at the party. He loved hanging with his close friends, cousins those he considered as brothers Tim Brown, Kevin Sims, Mike Durant, Solomon, Andre Hughes, Mark Factory, Ronald (Boogie) Atkins, Raymand, Vincent, Willie Goudeau, Donnell Craven and many many more. He also loved his daily talks with aunt Julia and spending time with his uncles Wayne and Blue.

Morris took pride in being a father. There was nothing that his children wanted for. He made sure his children knew the importance and strength of family. He was truly Our real life superhero and best friend.

Morris grandchildren were his prize possession. Everyone knew how much he loved them. They will miss hearing him yelling out “PAPA BOYS”. Papa kept his boys from the time they were born. He never missed a beat. Dropped them off at school and picked them up daily. Papa cheered them on at all their activities. They enjoyed riding around town, days at the park, and listening to old school jams. Most of all they enjoyed spending the night with papa and eating tons of candy! Their smiles were priceless.

Morris leaves to cherish his memory his mother Betty B. Thompson, Sister Treece Shaver, Wife Phyllis Thompson, Daughter Morreshia Thompson, Son Morris Thompson III, Grandson’s J’lyn and Jaiden Burns. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends that he loved dearly.

Visitation for Mr. Thompson will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 pm, at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, 10:00 am, at Agape Outreach Ministries followed by burial services at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
