Obituary

On September 14, 1966, Phyllis and Jimmy Thomas, Sr. welcomed into the world a handsome baby boy. They named him after his father, Jimmy Thomas, Jr. For everyone who knew and loved Jimmy they affectionately called him “Crow”.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Being raised in Tulsa he attended Tulsa Public Schools graduating from Will Rogers High School. Crow later worked for Po-Folks Restaurant for a long time. He was always a hard working person. One way to describe him was truly one of a kind. If you needed a helping hand, you could always count on him, family or friends. If you needed it and Crow had it, so could you. If he didn’t have it he would help you create a plan to help you get it. He was the life of the party and a family person.

Having a magnetic personality, made it easy for Crow to draw you into his world with his smile and dancing. His family truly loved everything about him and one of the things they enjoyed was his dancing and entertaining. He loved to make you smile and laugh. Crow had an entrepreneurial spirit. Creativity flowed from him, he could bring things to life. Crow loved to decorate. You could give him anything and he would make something come together and you would absolutely love it. Enjoying movies was another one of his favorite pastimes. He could watch a movie one time and tell you everything about it and everyone that was in the movie.

He was blessed to become a God-father to Timia Harding and Carlos Chaplin.

Meeting at Heaven’s gate will be his mother, Phyllis Thomas; grandmothers, Floretta Jenkins and Dorothy Lee Thomas; sister, Kim Thomas-Bruner, brother, Herbert Bruner and nephew, Barry Thomas.

He leaves to value his memory, his father, Jimmy Tomas Sr.; sisters, Debbie Jenkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dorothy Thomas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, ReTonja Jenkins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Lisa Bruner of Tulsa, Oklahoma; god-daughter, Timia Harding; a godson, Carlos Chaplin; And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
