Obituary

On March 6, 1918, Egypt and Amelia Nivens Thompson gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, one of ten children born to this union in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

Lillie was raised in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma where she attended Four Mile Branch Baptist Church, right outside of Ft. Gibson. She attended four Mile Branch Elementary, and Fort Gibson High School.

Later, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and married the love of her life Mr. William Brown. To that union three children were born: John Brown, William Gus Brown, and Gertrude Brown.

Lillie traveled with Evangelist Mother Grace Tucker for many years. Lillie devoted her life to praying for the sick and shut-in and spreading the Word of God, and rode the bus from her home in North Tulsa and traveled to St. Francis, St. John and would walk to Hillcrest Medical Center on numerous occasions. She was given the title “Mother of the Church” at Full Gospel Family Outreach Church where Bishop Harold Jones is the Pastor.

Lillie was a 100-year honoree at the Thompson Family Reunion in 2018.

Lillie Brown was Preceded in death by her parents Egypt and Amelia Nivens, and nine siblings. Lillie was the last one of her siblings to leave this earth.

She leaves to mourn her passing, three children; John (Eva), Gus and Gertrude; 17 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Funeral Service for Mother Lillie Thompson-Brown 101, of Tulsa, Oklahoma will be 2:pm Saturday September 7, 2019 36th Street Event Center 1125 East 36th Street North Tulsa, Oklahoma 74106.

Burial will follow in Rolling Oaks Memorial Gardens Tulsa, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Friday 3:00pm Til 8:00pm at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home 2103 East 3rd Street Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.
