Margaret Jean (Rowton) Baldwin, age 77, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 26, 1945, to Robert Lee and Ida Mae Rowton.

Margaret attended Booker T. Washington High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Margaret loved the church and worked in it tirelessly.  She loved to sing and started singing at the age of 6 years old, and even served as choir director. She served on the Oak Hill Baptist Church Mission Board as a deaconess and  loved to work with the elderly and often visited the sick and shut-it.

She also loved cooking and was known for her outstanding “Turkey and Dressing”. When she wasn’t attending church, she enjoyed fishing, bingo and making ceramic figures. Margaret worked as a domestic housekeeper for 10 years with Kenny Magoon and as a ceramic artist for 5 years making ceramic figurines.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee (Sr) and Ida Mae Rowton; two sisters, Maxine Harris-Anderson, Lena Mae Haslerig; one brother, Tommy Lee Rowton, and one son, Roscoe Baldwin, Jr.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roscoe Baldwin Sr., and her five children Nina M. (Amos) Manns-Mukamba, Portia I. Williams, Huery P. (Leilani) Talbert, Jr., Jannette E. (Anthony) Walker, Antonio B. Talbert; two sisters, Ada Haywood and Alice Rowton; one brother, Robert Lee Rowton, Jr., and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
