Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held on Friday, January 9, 1:00 p.m., at Unity Temple Family Church, 37260 S. 4210 Rd., Inola, OK.

On July 18, 1945, Daniel and Pearl Jones were blessed with another son, Lorenzo Jones.

Lorenzo or Renny as his family and friends would call him, attended school in Inola, OK. As a young man, he enlisted his self into the U.S. Army for a period of time.

After moving to Tulsa, OK, he soon met his beautiful wife to be Eva Mack Jones and married in 1963. During their time together, they raised four beautiful children. Later moving to Richmond, CA in 1967, he worked driving trucks for Fuller Paper Company until returning to Tulsa.

He became a self contractor, where he remodeled homes throughout parts of the city Tulsa. He was a plumber, electrician and a brick mason. Lorenzo could build a house from the ground up with his bare hands. A self starter and hard worker, outgoing and all around extraordinary man.

Outside of work, he loved to fish, play softball, and share his laughter with family and friends.

Lorenzo “Doc” Jones was a man with a heart of gold who never met a stranger and loved to help who he could. He was a very loving and caring man who will be sorely missed.

On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, he transitioned from earthly life to eternal glory.

Lorenzo Jones was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Eva Jones of 49 years, and his siblings: Daniel Jones, Wilma Jones, Billy Jones, Ella Maxwell and Clyde Jones.

He is survived by his children, Shena Hunter (OK), Sharon Jones (OK), Lorenzo Jones, Jr. (OK) and Diedre Horton (OK); his brothers, Cecil (Doris) Jones (CA), Elliott Jones (CA), Dorothy Gibbs (OK), and Eula Butler (OK). As well as a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

    To my cousin, sorry for your lost. Lorenzo was one of a kind, he was witty and smart with the best comeback when you say something smart. He gave some of the best parties for birthday and holidays. I know he is no longer in pain or suffering. God bless the family and keep them strong through this difficult times.
