She worked as a custodian and a parking lot attendant for many years. She received Christ and was Baptist at an early age at Paradise Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Letta, as she was called, loved to bake. She was known for baking delicious cakes and pies. Some of her favorites, german chocolate, strawberry and pineapple upside down cakes, sweet potato and lemon meringue pies, just to name a few. Letta was a loving, kind and generous person, she would give you the shirt off of her back to help you. She will be truly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories, six children; Sharon Chatman, Jessie Chatman, Marylon Cooper, Melvin Cooper (Joyce), Anthony Blackwell (Cindy), John Chatman (Lisa), a brother Louis Rainge, Jr and a sister Rose Poole (Ricky), along with a host of family and friends.
