Obituary
On November 24, 1992, God blessed Tiffany Walton and Theodore Wallace Jr. with a beautiful baby girl. They would lovingly call her, Knia Demecia Walton. Growing up in a family of ministers, Knia grew up knowing the love of God. She was member of the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, under the direction of her great aunt, the Late Reverend Polly Wallace-Ragsdale. She would sing and do whatever business of the church that her great aunt or grandmother, Molly Miller needed her to do. Eventually, she moved her membership to Greater Grace Apostolic Church under the direction of Bishop Donald Tyler.
Growing up in Tulsa, she is a product of Tulsa Public Schools. Attending Emerson Elementary, Wilson Middle School and eventually graduating in the Class of 2011 of Webster High School with honors. While attending Webster, she was a member of Honor Society and the Reading Club. It is here where Knia developed a love for books. Reading was a way for her to escape the world and be where ever she wanted to be.
After high school, her thirst for more education continued. She attended Rogers State College in Claremore for her freshman year but soon realized that her calling was in the medical field. So she left RSU and enrolled in Community Care College. She completed CCC as a Certified Medical Assistant. Immediately after graduation she began to work for Warren Clinic. In 2018, she was accepted into a Forensic Science Program but decided her job as a mother was more important.
While in college, Knia was blessed to become a mother of two beautiful boys, King Dever and Sir Dever. They were very instrumental in pushing her to complete her education. On her graduation day, they were on her hips celebrating. In July 2019, Knia was blessed again with a third son, Legend Edwards. She loved her children with every fiber of her heart.
Loving her children and her family was easy. She and her grandmother, Molly was her ride or die, better called the “OG” best friend. They went to garage sales, thrift stores and paying bills. If they couldn’t find it, they looked for it. Keeping everybody’s house clean was Knia’s passion. She was close to being OCD but she loved to clean while listening to gospel music. Her other hobbies included taking care of others, taking her boys to the park, watching movies and she loved the Parkers television show. She loved to cook for everyone in the neighborhood especially the homeless community. Her heart was also for the elderly, spending time at nursing homes painting nails and combing hair. Including her children in all she did to show them how to give people grace.
On July 4, 2023, God gave Knia her independence on Independence Day. Free from hurt, pain, sorrow, and strife but stepping into peace, grace, mercy and love.
Preceding her in death is her daughter, Naomi Walton; brother, Theodore Wallace III and paternal grandmother, Betty Jo.
Cherishing her life, love and her memory; sons, King Dever, Sir Dever and Legend Edwards; mother; Tiffany Walton; father, Theodore (Marquetta) Wallace, II; siblings, Tyriel (Aron) McCoy, Shayla (Quante’)Tennyson, LaKendra Pearson, Amari Wallace, Ambreil, Kaylynn, Jaylan and Lavell; grandparents, Floyd Smith and Molly Miller; a special cousin, Kevin Reynolds along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousin and friends. A special thanks to Shakira Glover, Chris Watts, Nina Bell and Shameka Glover, God saw you and He smile, God saw you and He said Well Done. Your heart has made room for you. You never let her side or judged. You just loved. To Knia’s God Parents, Twyla and Andre Brown, The day God sent out the assignment for Knia’s life, he sent two; one to Tiffany who would be her birth mother and the other to you two who would be her Godparents. You showed her loved… and God showed you favor for your unconditional love. You have truly been humble servants of God and for that, we thank you.
