Obituary
On April 11, 1946 the Matriarch, the GLUE, and the Queen of the Littlejohn family was born. Juanita Littlejohn was one of the many children who came from the union of James and Rosie Littlejohn Sr. in Bald Hill of Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.
When Juanita was just a child, the Littlejohn family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and it was there that Juanita attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in the class of 1966.
Upon receiving her high school education, Juanita entered into the labor field committed and determined to make a promising future for herself. Juanita worked in the Tulsa area for many years, and in 1994 she became an Entrepreneur as a Childcare Provider for her home daycare, “Home Away From Home”.
Juanita’s personality was unmatched. She was direct and strong. She was a natural born leader. She was authentic. She loved hard and was a mother to many. Juanita had the heart of gold and would help and shelter anyone in need, family, friend, turning no one away. Juanita enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was a person that was witty and funny. Juanita was fearless, generous and very kind-hearted.
Juanita accepted Christ into her life at a very young age. She loved attending church and celebrating holidays with family and friends, with her favorite holiday being; Christmas. God blessed Juanita to mother 4 amazing women, Shelley, Angela, Crystal, and Diamanta. Juanita attended Gethsemane Baptist Church for many years and later became a member at Antioch Baptist Church where she attended regularly until her health started to decline.
Juanita met and married Freddie Garrett on April 4, 1989. Freddie, her parents, James & Rosie Littlejohn, siblings; (brothers) Carl, Felix, David, Dennis, James Junior, (sisters) Florence, Christine, JamesElla, Augustine, Mary Frances, Shirley and Lavada preceded her in death.
In God’s care Juanita leaves to cherish her precious memories, 4 daughters, Shelley Morgan, Grandview, Missouri, Angela Littlejohn and Crystal Lancaster, Wichita, Kansas, Diamanta Johnson, Tulsa, Oklahoma. 17 grandchildren, Gericka, Grandview, Missouri, Edgar (EJ) Kansas City, Missouri, Shaletta; Washington, DC, Donaraysha, Diaraysha, LaDarion, LaJournei, LaPromyce, LaDiamond, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Curtis, Khalup, A’Zaun, Lamaria, Elexia, Johnnitta, Crystal, Jonathan, Wichita, Kansas; 21 great grandchildren, (sisters) Octavia Love, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marguerite Rice, Wichita, Kansas; (sisters-in-law) JoAnna Littlejohn, Jennie Littlejohn Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cora Littlejohn, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will truly miss her.
Visitation for Mrs. Garrett will be held on Friday, September 15, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home, 2103 E. 3rd St, Tulsa, OK 74104.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 11:00 a.m., at Antioch Baptist Church followed by interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
