Obituary

Jermaine De’Angelo Lucas-Richardson was born on July 6, 1974.  He passed away on March 29, 2023.  He will be missed by all that love him.

A viewing will be held Friday April 7, 2023 from 5pm-8pm at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 1:00pm Morning Star Baptist Church.

 

Jermaine Lucas was born to Frances Lucas and Larry Joe Richardson on July 6, 1974, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jermaine attended Frost Elementary School in Tulsa. He attended middle school in Shawnee. In school, he played several sports including basketball and wrestling. He later returned to Tulsa and graduated from Tulsa Edison High School. He also attended Tulsa Junior College.

Jermaine accepted Christ at an early age and attended Church of the Living God, Temple#166. He was baptized by Rev. James Barnes.

Jermaine was known for his cooking, helping others, and had a special love for children. Jermaine loved his family so much, and he loved the lord. Jermaine was such a sure of himself person. Whatever he put his mind to, he was sure to make it come to pass, whether it was accomplishing something for himself or his family.

Jermaine Deangelo Lucas passed peacefully in the presence of his family on March 29, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 48. Jermaine is preceded in death by his grandparents, Maddie Richardson and Marshall Richardson, his son, Da’Rayvion “Shorty” Lucas Todd, his special aunt Connie Lucas, and his nephew Davion Richardson.

Jermaine leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Frances Lucas (James), his father Larry Joe Richardson, second mom Darlene Richardson, his grandmother Ruby Lucas, his daughter Kylia Lucas, his sisters Lauren Williamson, Sheree Lightfoot, Yolanda Lucas, his brother Kyle Richardson, his nieces and nephews Kristen Lee, Kaylie Lee, Karrigan Lee, Camron Richardson, Anthony Richardson,  Zaire Lightfoot, Norah Lightfoot, a very special cousin, Maceo Lucas, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

    Jermaine, I am so sad to hear of your passing. I apologize for not knowing about the evil cancer that took you way to soon, way to soon! To Frances and Toodie, I am sorry for you loss. He was very loved, he was one of my closest friends, sad that we lost touch after having my own child. I did as your mom did, by putting my daughter first and foremost in my life. I will miss all the fun times we use to have, gosh all the laughs, we had!
