Obituary

James Leon Cochrane was born in Tulsa, OK, on Saturday, November 11, 1950. This bouncing baby boy was welcomed by His Father, Floyd, Mother, Doris, and four older Siblings: Girtha, Robert, Alford, and Anita. The Cochrane Family relocated to Steubenville, Ohio where James spent his earlier years. James returned to Oklahoma where he attended Tulsa Public Schools, and was part of the mighty BTW Hornets, Class of 1969.

James met Ellouise Price in October of 1974 at the Tulsa State Fair, and they were married in June of 1976. James and Ellouise were the proud Parents of 5 Children, and Grandparents of 12 Grandloves.

As a young boy, James attended Union Baptist Church with his grandmother, Cora Lockett, and in 2010 he renewed his Faith in God and joined Harvest Time Ministries. James was employed by the City of Tulsa Utilities Department as a Crew Leader II until his retirement in May 2015. Although James no longer worked for the City of Tulsa, he did not sit idle. He found enjoyment in helping family and friends with errands and odd jobs. He loved spending time with his Family, particularly his Grandloves. He enjoyed watching Basketball and Football, listening to music, and Barbequing meat on the grill. James loved to make others laugh and was always telling jokes.

James was preceded in death by both parents, Floyd and Doris; two Sisters, Girtha, and Christine; and one Brother, Billy.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: Ellouise (Tulsa); 4 Sisters – Anita Cochrane, Diane Cochrane, and Beverly Logan, (all of Tulsa), and Margurette Barnett-Ards (Atlanta, GA); 7 Brothers – Robert Henry, (Gloria, Columbus, OH); Alford Cochrane (Omaha, NE); Floyd Cochrane, (Steubenville, OH); Calvin Logan (Tina, Tulsa); Isaiah Logan,(Sandra, Plano, TX); Maurice Barnett, (Tulsa, OK), and Michael Barnett, (Tulsa, OK), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
