Obituary
On May 5th 1970, a baby boy was born to Jenetta Morgan and Terry Ross Sr. in Tulsa Oklahoma. Attending Gethsemane Baptist church, James accepted Christ at an early age and was later baptized.
James received an early education from Tulsa Public schools and later attended Tulsa’s own Mclain High School, class of 1988.
James was known for his kind heart and willingness to always make others feel loved and welcomed, he never met a stranger. James was truly the “Life of the party”, and lit up any room he walked into.
If you ever visted Nelson’s Buffeteria, you were able to receive the Rock Ross experience; and boy was it eye closing! Dedicated to Nelson’s for over a decade Rock put his heart and soul in every bite you ate.
A true cowboy at heart Rock was memeber of The Round Up Club, Cowboy’s On The Fence. Hanging out at the Smokehouse kicking it with his cowboy friends was of his passtime pleasures.
James was preceded in death by: His mother Jenetta Morgan, Two sons James Tottress and Anthony Reed. One Brother Richard “Antoine” Morgan and a grandson Julion Tottress.
Left to cherish his memories: His wife of 16 years, Namorline (Nea) Reed Morgan. Three Sons, Deandre Downing (Melissa), Jamond Verner and Malcolm Henderson. Two daughters, Derrika Jordan and Nikea Reed. 11 grandchildren, who were the apples of his eyes. His father, Terry D. Ross Sr. Two brothers, Terry D. Ross Jr. and Cletus Morgan. An abundance of cousins that were raised as siblings and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Morgan will be held on Friday, October 13, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2:00 pm, at Greater Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church, 1205 E. 46th St. N., Tulsa, OK 74126 followed by burial at Crown Hill Cemetery.
