On January 7, 2022 at 6:48 AM in the morning, Jacqueline Y. Evans Ragland heard the called from God and went to receive her golden crown….
Jacqueline Yvette Evans was born to Robert Evans Sr. and Nolene Manuel on January 16, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the ninth child born to this union. Growing up in Tulsa, she attended Tulsa Public Schools. First, Sam Houston, Gilcrease Junior High and Raymond S. McLain High School. Jackie, as she was called by all, was a proud member of the McLain Class of 1983. After high school, she attended Tulsa Community College where she received an Associate Degree in Science. Continuing her education at Langston University, Jackie received her Bachelors of Arts in Sociology Jackie loved learning and she later earned her Masters of Social Work in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jacqueline was blessed with two beautiful children, Shakina and Germaine. She also affectionately loved and raised Kadijah and Keisha as her very own.
Jaqueline was a kind hearted person. She served people in many capacitates and touched many lives. Accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, Jackie knew of God’s goodness. She attended Revival Center House of Prayer under the leadership of the late great, Dr. Mother Grace Tucker. While there she was very active in the church. She later joined Full Gospel House of Prayer under the leadership of Bishop Harold Jones. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, Jackie found a place of worship at Tranquil AME Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Karen Bennett where she worship until her God called her home..
While attending Tranquil AME, Jacqueline met her soon to be husband, Mr. Roderick Ragland in 2012. On June 29, 2013, the two became one as they exchanged their wedding vows and committed to each other.
Standing at the golden gates of heaven, to welcome Jacqueline to glory, will be her parents, Robert Evans Sr. and Nolene Palmer; brothers, Daniel Graham and Charles F. Evans; sister, Charlotte Verner-Rudd.
Cherishing her life and her memory forever will be her husband, Roderick Ragland; her children, Shakina (Charles) Shelton of Birmingham, Alabama Germaine Good of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and her bonus daughters, Kadijah and Keisha both of Douglasville, GA; six grandchildren, C.J. Shelton, Tayler Shelton, Gia Good, Gizelle Good, Charles Shelton and Khloe Shelton; siblings, Patricia (Robert) Bryant of Edmond, Oklahoma, Galen Verner, Terry (Shirley) Evans, Felicia (Dewey) Morrow, Rozell Evans, Anthony (Shannon) Evans, Ardelia Evans-Jackson, Casper (Adrienne) Palmer all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Claralyn Allen of Kansas City, MO and Willa (Carlos) Palmer-Williams of Plano, Texas along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family and friends.
