Obituary
A memorial service for Florence will be held on Friday, September 6, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Morning Star Baptist Church.
On October 17, 1931, a beautiful and feisty baby girl was born. They named her, “FLORENCE.”
I attended the D.B.O. in Taft, Oklahoma. I also attended
Langston university and U.M.K.C.
I was accomplished in cosmetology at the D.B.O. and I could fix the hell out of hair.
I was a sharp dressed, classy woman.
I retired as an AT&T Technologist in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
I loved cooking, baking, watching basketball, and my Kansas City Chiefs play football.
I was a known fighter! I worked in the union at AT&T and I fought for anyone who was being mistreated.
I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a lifelong member at Morning Star Baptist Church. I was involved with the Six-T Club.
On the morning of August 30, 2022, God called my name and I answered, and went Home. I was preceded in death by loving husband, William, parents, brothers: Frank, Willie, Joseph, and Joe Louis; sisters: Lois, Sue, Charlene, and Sadie Mae; and one
grandson, Brandon.
My memory will live on in the loves of those who will miss my presence: my one sister, Corrine (Willie), son, Bradley (Elaine), Amber, Marquise, McKenzie, my daughters, Rhonda (Charles), Brandi, and David, Valerie Jordan and Rian, Lil Jordyn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I was saddened to hear of my dear Aunt’s passing but knowing that she is no longer suffering gives me comfort. While I was unable to say a personal goodbye, perhaps we will meet again. I loved the times we spent together and will miss you.
