Obituary

On July 18, 1960, in Muskogee County, Oklahoma, Harvey Moore and Ozella Corina Robinson-Moore welcomed a baby boy and they lovingly named him, Elvin Leon Moore. In his primary years the family relocated to Tulsa, OK. Elvin attended Tulsa Public Schools, beginning his education at Robert Frost Elementary School, followed by Madison Junior High and Gilcrease Junior High, and lastly attending McLain High School.

After high school he found gainful employment at Caterpillar Heavy Equipment Company. There he learned the trade of mechanics and paint and body. He was a very skilled and talented mechanic and enjoyed rebuilding old school cars and Elvin also had businesses as a handyman and paint and body work. Elvin was a jack of all trades and remained self employed throughout his life.

Elvin was baptized at an early age by Pastor Charles H. Davis of First Baptist Church of Haskell now known as Eastside Baptist Church. Elvin was a firm believer of the gospel of Jesus Christ and you could always find him sharing the Word of God with others.

On the evening of Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Elvin surrendered to the call of his of the Savior. Meeting him at Heaven’s gates will be his parents, Harvey and Ozella Moore; his siblings, Donald Moore, Harvey Moore, Jr. Sharon Moore, Charles (Eloise) Moore, Brenda Cullom, Ray Anthony Cullom, Edna Louise Bell; his fraternal Colombus Moore and Willie A. Walker maternal grandparents, Arthur and OT Robinson; nieces and nephews, Shiree Moore, Donald Ray Moore, Marquita Cullom, Demarco Bell and Tanara Cullom.

Those left to cherish Elvin’s precious memory is his daughter, Tasha Moore, siblings: Mary Ann “Kim” Cullom, LaDonna Sue Scott, Carlos Wayne Cullom, Stacy Eugene Moore, and Dearl Rayford Moore, Hanford Bell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Elvin will be held at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 2 PM-8 PM.

A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Haskell, OK on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 1 PM.
