Celebrating the Life of Diane Johnson

On April 21, 1951, in the big city of Los Angeles, California), a beautiful baby girl was born to Bertha Mayes and Bill Cramer.  They named their beautiful daughter Diane Winona Johnson.

Diane lived in California for 28 years.  She married Earl Johnson in 1967, and together they had three children: Diana (Denise), Anthony, and Eric Johnson.  Diane moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1979 to enhance the lives of her children, which she so graciously accomplished.  While there in Tulsa, she raised Charles Williams, Anthony and Adrian Coleman.  She was a mother figure to those who lost their parents, to name a few; Robert Daniels, Mack Daniels, and Alberta Johnson.

Diane, a determined, independent, and accomplished woman, never stopped dreaming or striving for excellence. She received her GED later in life and became a well-respected professional in the medical field; she worked faithfully in that field for more than 40 years.   She was self-employed for more than 10 years – taking care of the youth in the community.  In the last 2 years of her life, until her death, Diane worked steadily and with sheer determination in home health care and as a substitute teacher in Georgia.

Diane was a very loving person that  would never miss the opportunity to help others in need.  Diane spent her life serving others, exuding realism.  In every action and decision she made, she was confident and gave her all!   She loved family, music (old school), traveling, dancing, working, and hand-making family collages. Diane was known for coordinating many memorable family reunions; she would cook and dare to sing and dance at the gatherings.  She also loved to dress and put on a smile while enjoying her family and friends.  And boy could she tell a story!

Diane’s loving spirit will be remembered by

Her daughter, Denise and son-in law Anthony Johnson, her sons, Anthony, Eric, Charles, and Anthony (Junior), and her nephew Eugene Douglas.

Her 13 grandchildren – Erica Johnson, Trisdon Johnson, Aderia Belford and husband Mike, Shauntel Johnson and husband Jeff, Marcus Daniels and wife Jaleesa, Keisha Mayes and husband Lawrence, Alicia Johnson, Johnathan Johnson, Deandrea Johnson, Myrhan Johnson, Sadee Johnson, Erin Johnson, and Shay Jackson.  She will also be remembered by her adopted grandchildren, close cousins, family, and friends.

Diane is preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertha Mayes and Bill Cramer, her sister, Rhonda Cramer, niece Tawanda Clark, and grandsons Sidney Johnson and Darius Rowland.
