Obituary

February 17^th, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tyrone and Velma Jean would welcome their second bundle of joy, a baby girl whom they named, Diane Marie.

Diane received her education through Tulsa Public Schools systems and was a graduate of McLain Senior High School, Class of 1978.

Accepting Christ at an early age, she was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Julius Ballard.

Diane was a very outgoing and loving person. She would never meet anyone that she would not have an interaction with, as well as, leaving an impression on their hearts with her infectious smile and laugh. She loved cooking, listening to music, dancing, softball, volleyball and working.

Diane began a career in the medical industry. She faithfully served and was employed at OSU Medical Center for 20 years. She had a passion to serve and loved her job and co-workers immensely. She would never want to not show up! She was loved and respected by her peers and medical staff.

Diane had a love for her family and would attempt to do everything for everybody. After several years, she would rekindle her relationship with her high school sweetheart, Johnnie Reason. After dating again at the age of 40, she would surprise her family by giving birth to a bouncing baby boy, her only child, Jon’tae. He was the apple of her eyes and her heartbeat. Jon’tae brought even more joy to her life when she became a grandmother of three lovely grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Although we will miss Diane greatly, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 reads “but we are confident, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Jesus called us a friend and indeed Diane was to many. Welcoming her into the gates of heaven will be her Mother, Father, brother Darryl, Sister Kim, Nephews Gable & Lavell and Niece Darnetta and other family members.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home from 5pm-8pm.

Services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11am at Glad Tidings: 2123 N Frankfort Ave, Tulsa, OK 74106.
