Obituary

Cecelia Dolores Charles, affectionately known as “CC” died peacefully surrounded by family, on January 3, 2024, in Mckinney, Texas at the age of 85. Cecelia was born on May 25, 1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Peter and Lessie Mae Charles. She was the youngest of three siblings.

After Cecelia graduated from high school, she worked two jobs until she found her calling. She went to school to
become a surgical technician and worked in that field at St Francis Hospital for nearly 30 years. She was very
accomplished in her field. While she worked for the
hospital, she also worked for a brain surgeon as his
surgical technician. Cecelia loved her job, but she loved her family even more. She was our matriarch. Family and friends knew they could come to her for guidance, a good laugh (she had the best sense of humor) or enough food to fill their shelves for a week. She always kept her cabinets and freezer stocked just in case someone needed help.
After she retired, being an avid reader since childhood, reading was her favorite pastime. One of her favorite
authors was Louis L`Amour. She read many of his books several times just for enjoyment and admiration of his work. It is very hard to sum up Cecelia’s life
accomplishments and how much she meant to her family without writing a book. If you were lucky enough to meet her you would never forget her, nor her powerful presence.  CC was the nucleus of her family, and she will be sorely missed. Cecelia is survived by her daughter Twyler Wilson her grandchildren Trey Wilson, Sydney Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.
