Obituary

A public visitation service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 5-8pm at Butler-Stumpff and Dyer Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, at 11am at Calvary Baptist Church.

On November 30, 1966, a handsome baby boy was born to Jeremiah and Ida Bell McLaurin. They named him Brian Keith McLaurin. Brian was a healthy and happy baby. At 11 months of age, Brian became very ill. Jere and Ida put their trust in God and prayed. Brian grew up to be a very warm, kind-hearted, and an always giving and helpful man.

Brian attended Sand Springs Public Schools. During his high school years, he participated in FFA. He graduated from Charles Page High School – Class of 1985. After graduating, he volunteered with the Keystone Fire Department and was a member of the Sand Springs Round-Up Club. Brian would help at roping, rodeos, and never expected anything in return. Every time he showed up and walked in, he was always smiling.  His genuine heart and kind smile were on display to all he encountered, no matter if they were a friend or stranger.

Brian’s warmth and love resonated inside and out. He loved so many people. He was never shy in saying, “I love you,” whether he was leaving the room or ending a phone call.

On April 27, 2023, Brian departed this life and entered into glory. He was preceded in his passing by his parents, Jeremiah and Ida Bell McLaurin, siblings, Paul Owens and Arthur Lee “Dinky” Gordon, and grandparents, Walter and Bernice McLaurin, Louise Burst, and Reverend Dilly Knox.

He leaves to cherish MANY great memories about him and with him his siblings: Lloyd “Doug” (Doris), Gary (Colitha “Lil Bit”), Kathy (Chris “Bay”), Laura, Lois “Shana”, Sherry (Billy), Stacy (Ken), Reverend Scott (Kristie), Donald Ray (Brittany), Purin, Meldon (Marshay), and Orlando; as well as a host of nephew, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends, all of who loved and was loved by, Brian.

  1. We love you dearly Brian, but God loves you more! You will be truly missed, your smile, and your laughter. Always willing to help out in anyway and at anytime. Every day is definitely going to be different not seeing you, and you checking on Mama and Daddy to see if there’s anything they need or if we need help. It will be hard but we have all those precious memories. But most importantly, you are with God, your parents, your grandparents and loved ones! Fly High Cowboy!

Love and Miss you dearly, Uncle Johnie, Aunt Lena, Pamela, Johnie B. (Bubba), Tamica, Gabrielle, and Johnie Von (JC)

  2. TG says:

Family, rest in the love of God, the peace of the Lord and Savior, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit!
    1611 KJV Ecclesiasticus 38v23
When the dead is at rest, let his remembrance rest, & be comforted for him, when his spirit is departed from him

  3. He smiled and the world lit up. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for you. He absolutely was a child of God. People look at the outer but it was the inner person that people loved. He was so loved and will be missed greatly. A gentle soul with a big heart.
We should always continue to spread the love he gave to us. Brian is now free of infirmities and will have his wings to fly instead of walking and spreading love. Keep watching over us and Rest in Power (RIP). Love you! To the family, keep spreading Brian’s Love, and smile like he did through all his life.
