Obituary

Bobby Ross was born on November 27, 1946, in Beggs, Oklahoma, to Alvin Ross and Bertha Thorns. He spent his childhood working on the family farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for family and the land.

Bobby was also lovingly raised by his grandmother, Clara, whom he affectionately called “Mama.” Her guidance and love helped shape the man he would become. Growing up, Bobby worked on the family farm alongside his cousin Roy Townsell, who was much more like a brother to him. Together, they shared countless days tending the land and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Bobby’s greatest joy in life was his family. As a teenager, he met the love of his life, Corrine “Rita” Grayson. Their young romance blossomed into a lifelong partnership built on love, commitment and devotion. Together they raised four children, creating a home filled with laughter, guidance, and unwavering support.

Bobby and Rita shared over 52 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in December of 2016. Though he deeply missed her, he continued to honor the life and love they built together and remained a source of strength for his family.

Throughout his life, Bobby believed in treating others with respect, kindness, and dignity. He was known for his caring heart, strong character, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His values were reflected in the way he lived and the relationships he built with family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

Bobby’s legacy is one of hard work, compassion, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; four children who loved him dearly; Billy Ross, Christine Ross Kelly, Carla Ross Erivin, and Bobby Ross Jr. Ten grandchildren whom he loved and cherished; Miyoshi Ross, Brittany Ross, Billy (BJ) Ross Jr, Cortia Ross, Carissa Erivin, Savannah (Chy) Erivin, Josh Erivin, Brice Ross, Brooklynn Ross, and Isaiah Ross. Three great-grandchildren; Eva Thompson, Braxton Ross, and Paris Gaines. He also leaves behind one brother, James Goudeau.

Though he will be greatly missed, his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
