Question 1

What do I need to do first when arranging a burial after someone dies?

Accepted Answer

The first step is to contact Dyer Memorial Chapel so a funeral professional can help your family begin the arrangements. A counselor can guide you through decisions involving the funeral or memorial service, transportation, casket selection, cemetery arrangements, and other needs while providing an itemized explanation of the services and costs you select.

Question 2

What additional expenses should I expect when planning a burial?

Accepted Answer

Burial expenses can extend beyond the funeral package itself. Dyer Memorial Chapel states that most packages do not include cemetery memorial property, and additional costs may include cemetery fees, clergy honorariums, car services, paid obituary notices, or death certificates unless specifically included in the selected package or current General Price List.

Question 3

Traditional burial vs. cremation: which is right for my family?

Accepted Answer

Traditional burial may be a better fit for families who prefer a gravesite and conventional funeral or graveside ceremony, while cremation provides greater flexibility for the final disposition of the remains. Dyer Memorial Chapel offers both options, so the appropriate choice depends on personal wishes, religious or cultural traditions, service preferences, cemetery plans, and budget.

Question 4

How does the funeral and burial planning process work?

Accepted Answer

Funeral and burial planning generally begins with an arrangement consultation and continues through service selection, casket and merchandise decisions, preparation of the deceased, ceremony planning, transportation, cemetery coordination, and burial. The exact process depends on the Dyer Memorial Chapel funeral plan selected and whether the family chooses a graveside service, chapel funeral, or another arrangement.

Question 5

Does a funeral package include every burial-related expense?

Accepted Answer

No. A Dyer Memorial Chapel funeral package does not necessarily include every expense associated with a burial. Cemetery fees and grave space are generally separate unless specifically included, and cash-advance items such as clergy honorariums, car services, paid obituary notices, and death certificates may also cost extra. Families receive an itemization when arrangements are made.

Question 6

What areas do you serve for funeral and burial services?

Accepted Answer

Dyer Memorial Chapel provides funeral and burial services for families in Tulsa, Turley, and Sand Springs, Oklahoma. From its Tulsa location, the funeral home assists families with funeral planning, burial arrangements, mortuary services, cemetery coordination, casket selections, and related memorial needs. Specific cemetery availability, requirements, fees, and burial arrangements should be confirmed during the planning process.
