Obituary

Barbara was born on December 29, 1937, to John and Christine Davis in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was the second Eldest of the union: having one sister, Novella Davis & brother, John E. Davis Jr. who both preceded her in death.

Barbara attended Dunbar in Okmulgee, OK and graduated from Booker T. Washington in Tulsa, Ok in 1955.

In high school, she met and married Granville Cleveland Jones and from their union eight children were born: Ilinda Lanaa, Cheryl Lynn, Granville Cleveland, Gregory Charles, Denise Michelle, Barbara Annette, Gerald Craig, and John Anthony.

At an early age, she was a faithful member of North Peoria Church of Christ where she attended with her Mother, Christine Davis and family.

Barbara began her professional career at Tulsa Airport Authority where she remained until retirement. Barbara was a serial entrepreneur having several businesses: Tumbling Inn Daycare, Realtor and Home Health.

In her leisure and spare time Barbara enjoyed spending time with family, watching Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Judge Judy and outings to the casino.

Barbara was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: John E. Davis Sr & Novella Sparks-Davis; maternal grandparents; General Ward & Luella King; parents – John Edgar Davis II & Christine Davis, siblings – Novella & John Davis III; Aunts – Evelyn Ward-McMullen, Euela Ward-Hopkins, Loraine Ward-Parker, Exie Ward-Carter; Uncles – Albert Ward, Glen Ward, John Ward, Napoleon Ward ; nieces – Avis Foster, Gina Foster-Carroll; children – Ilinda Gibbs & John Jones; Grandchildren – Jacques Jones, Rodney Campbell, Meshawanna Jones & Dionca Guess.

In her home, surrounded by family, on January 21, 2023, Barbara received a call from our Lord and Savior.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Cheryl Lynn Jones, Granville C. Jones, Gregory C. Jones(Dorothy), Denise M. Jones, Barbara Moss (Jimmy), Gerald C. Jones; her grandchildren: Kisha Jefferson, Rickey Foster, Shantel Ryan, Cheryl Ryan, Michelle Johnson-Fields (Lemmel), Demarco Jones(Tia), Brian Jones(Tiffany), Brandon Jones, Brittany Jones, Felicia Jones, Antwan Jones, Marques Sutton, LaToya Jones(Darren), Greg Jones Jr, Oni Barnes, Ronnie Smittick (Shameka), Lysaunee Moss, Montoyria Jones, Marco Campbell; nieces – Deidra Foster, Cynthia Foster-Godbold; nephew – Jimmy Foster and a host of great grandchildren, cousins and special friends.
