Obituary
On Saturday, January 26th, 1957 Jewel A. Sr. and Zelma J. Quinn gave birth to their 4th child whom they named Audrey Cheron Quinn. Audrey was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and had six siblings, four sisters and one brother. They were blessed with a community oriented upbringing. Their tight knit Greater Ville neighborhood laid the foundation for familial closeness, life long friendships, and for Audrey in particular a propensity for civic service. Growing up Audrey was educated in the public school system, graduating from Beaumont High School in 1975.
After graduating, Audrey traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, the state where her father and his family had roots. There Audrey began to build a life of her own. At an early age, Audrey accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, a commitment that guided her decision to receive her bachelors in social work from Oral Roberts an evangelical University. It was there she joined the renowned Souls of Fire gospel choir, a community that laid the foundation for Higher Dimensions Family Church. Later she studied education and social work towards her masters degree at the University of Oklahoma. With her masters in hand she was equipped to mentor and counsel young mothers, families and children at Margaret Hudson and Parent Child Center where her passion for youth blossomed.
As the foundation of her work was solidifying, she planted seeds for her own family life. She married James W. McGill and they had two children, Lauren Ashley and Michael Blake. Raising their family on a ranch in the Osage Hills of North Tulsa where family and friends gathered together for play-dates, bar-b-ques, and hay rides. As her family prospered, so did her service to the City of Tulsa. Audrey began working for the Department Human Services and then Tulsa Public Schools as an elementary school counselor where she guided many families and their children. She was passionate about bringing structure to their education, peace to their home lives, and healing to their minds. McKineley Elementary was her latest assignment and beloved educational family. Over the years Audrey dedicated her free time outside of work to youth empowerment through Jack & Jill of America, The Mother’s Group, and Youth At Heart where she served as a board member. She taught children’s church and was actively involved in outreach at First Baptist, Higher Dimensions, and most recently with her Friendship church family.
Her commitment to the Kingdom of God was reflected in her wise, uplifting, and gentle spirit. She was an active member of several prayer groups – the Old School Prayer Warriors, Prayer 3:33, and the Gap Standers – where her gifted speech and spiritual strength supported many grateful loved ones on the receiving end of her powerful prayers. She was also an avid reader, dancer, gardener, and real estate entrepreneur. It is not lost on Audrey’s community the alignment of her ascension. Early Sunday morning, the 7th day of the week, she was called home to rest. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children Blake and Lauren, her siblings Jewel A. Quinn Jr., Donna Quinn Owens, Gloria Quinn-Wright (Earl), Sandra Quinn Fields (Jesse), Gail Quinn Brownlee (George), and Michelle Quinn. Her presence will be missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters in faith, neighbors, colleagues, families and students.
Services will take place at Friendship Church on Friday, June 21st at 12pm.

My sincere condolences to the family. Audrey and I worked together years ago and became good friends for over 20 years. She loved her children and spoke of them every time I saw her. Such a sweet, kind person who loved the Lord and stood on His word. I will truly miss my dear friend.
