My prayers for the Anthony family. I believe that Archie and I were drafted into the U..S. Army the same day in Oklahoma City and both received our basic training at Fort Polk Louisiana. If so, his serial number was U.S.54672020. His last name was right before mine. My service number was YS54672021. After basic training I was assigned to Fort Gordon, Georgia and he was assigned to another base in Georgia for basic training. Archie and I drove from Tulsa to Georgia in my 1965 Mustang 2+2 GT Fastback . We spent the night in Atlanta with our respective friends. The next day I drove Archie to his base and the drove to my base the opposite side of Georgia. After advanced training I was in Vietnam for a year. I hope that Archie was stationed elsewhere.. forgive me for using this , if this is not the Archie Anthony that I knew. We were just two young boys serving our country, one black, one white.
