Obituary

Alvin L. Davis of Tulsa Oklahoma passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, in Muskogee Oklahoma at Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Hospital.  “Peanut” as he was affectionally called was born to the late John G. and Lillie M. Davis on July 4, 1950, in Tulsa Oklahoma at Morton Memorial Hospital.    He was the baby of three children born to John and Lillie.

Alvin graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1968 and shortly after joined the United State Army.   Alvin served until he was honorably discharged to return home to care for his ailing mother after the untimely death of his father.   After returning home from service, Peanut started a career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a part of the linemen team.   After several years of service at the telephone company, Peanut transitioned to custodial roles with Tulsa Public Schools and the University of Tulsa.  At the time of his death, he was retired and living his best life as a resident of Heritage Landing Apartments.  During his stay at Heritage Landing, he made many new friends.  He was a dependable source of transportation for residents who did not own cars, a comic book (Marvel) and puzzle lover, and a good and faithful friend.

Alvin married Sovier  D. “Sophie” Odoms in 1982.   No children were born to this union; however, he was a bonus dad to his wife’s two children.   Peanut is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother who died at birth, his great nephew, and his great niece.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved sister, LeeAnn Lynch, his niece, Alisa Bell (Craig), his great niece, BreAnna Bell, and his great-great nephew, Bryce Stephens.   His wife, Sophie, stepchildren LaTisha Scott (Illya) and David Johnson, and a host of other family and friends.
