Cherished Memories of Mark.. .
Mark Anthony Brown Sr., was born on July 30, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his loving parents Donald Ray and Ruth Mary.
Mark graduated from Bishop Kelley High School where he excelled in football and wrestling. As a young man, Mark attended both Kansas Wesleyan College and Cerritos Junior College. On June 18, 1983, Mark married his first love Jacqueline Renee Smith and during their five year marriage, one son was born, Mark Jr.
With his adventurous spirit, Mark lived in many places, Kansas, California and Texas where he experienced many challenges and successes. Ultimately, Mark returned to live in his home state of Oklahoma.
Mark held a variety of jobs throughout his life, however; he enjoyed working on cars the most. He was a diligent hard working man who was kind, caring and very loving. He always had a ready smile and something funny to say to make others laugh. His bright and funny personality would light up a room wherever he would go.
Preceding him in death are his father, Donald Ray Sr., and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ruth Gunnels; two sons, Mark Anthony Jr., (Kami) and M’Kai: his brother, Donald Ray (Sherlena) Brown, Jr.; three sisters, Lila (Shepherd) Grant, children, Elijah “Shepherd Jr.”, Jeiel, Alana, Ashantah and Aajah; Evelyn (James) Sims and Kim Patterson (Korey) all from California; Three grandchildren, Markel Brown, Laila Brown and Kamiran Bell; One Aunt Virginia Reed and two cousins, Cecil McBee Jr. and Debbie McBee-Jones and a host of loving family and friends.
Mark will be greatly missed.
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalms 147:3
