Reflections of Life “Mother Mary”

On April 19, 1938, an angel baby girl was born to both Alex and Mattie Perryman and her God given name would be Mary, a joy of thirteen children. She was born in the small town of Haynes, Oklahoma where she received her formal and spiritual education.

In Wybark, Oklahoma, Mary attended church at Fountain Baptist Church and Tallahassee Schools. She was a God fearing servant who believed in preaching God’s word. She moved to Tulsa at an early age. She worked at Tulsa International Airport and Williams Center with her Aunt Suttie. Mary later worked and retired from Norberg Family of 40 years.

Mary met Norman Lee Jones Sr., in 1955 and they were married on September 14, 1956; he was the love of her life. God blessed this union with five children and they shared 61 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother until God called her home.

Mary and her sisters were loving known as the “Four Musketeers” all of their lives. The sisters were, Annie Mae, Jackie Mae, Reba and Mary. If you would see one, you would see them all, this was a strong sister bond.

“Mother Mary” as she was lovingly called, was one of the first four members of Full Gospel Outreach Ministries under the direction of Bishop W. Harold Jones. She has been a faithful member for over 31years. Mother Mary’s testimony is that God truly healed her body, mind, and soul. She had a special love for her Elect Lady Lonzetta Jones whom she loved to cook along with. She devoted her life to the service of God. She spent many nights with her Full Gospel family at bible study or Sunday school. She could be found witnessing, spreading the gospel on the Mother’s Board with all the other mothers of the church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

On January 30, 2018, the God Lord decided to call Mother Mary home. She reached out and took her Father’s hand. Meeting her in her eternal life were her grandparents, Leroy and Virginia Walker, parents, Alex and Mattie Perryman, two sons, Norman Jr. and Brian “Tinkel” and ten siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Lee Jones of the home; children, Curtis Royal Jones, Carolyn Jones, and Serina Jones. Three sisters, Dorothy Marshall and Evelyn Marshall both of Tullahassee, Oklahoma; Lilly Perryman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Daughter-in-law, Aleatha Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Sister — in-law Betty McCray and brother-in-law Oliver Jones a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
