Obituary

Burial: Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
Barbara Grace “Bobbie” made her grand entrance into the world on September 5, 1934 in Atoka, Oklahoma to the loving arms of Hassan Reed, Sr. and Lubell Reed. She was nicknamed “Bobbie” by her family and close friends.

Barbara received her formal education from Atoka Public School successfully graduating from Dunbar High School. Bobbie accepted the Lord as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized.

Barbara happily united met Thomas Hankins in marriage. They were proud parents of five children, Lubell, Diane, Alice, Thomas and Barbara. This marriage was later dissolved. She later moved to Purcell and was blessed with Linda, Brenda (twins) and Don. Barbara and her family later relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she found gainful employment at the Mayo Hotel, McDonald Douglas and lastly, the formerly Tulsa Osteopathic Hospital now known as, Tulsa Regional Hospital. Bobbie met William Charles Freeman and they were blessed with Rose and Mae Freeman.

Before her health began to fail Bobbie enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She also enjoyed traveling and mostly spending time in the presence of her loved ones Her family was her pride and joy and she was always eager to be around and taking care of her grandchildren, Bobbie also enjoyed cooking and she was well-known for her “Peach Cobbler”. Barbara was a member of the Girlfriends Social Club of Taft, Ok. The girlfriends organized social events and supported the community when needed.

On, Wednesday, June 28, 2017, surrounded by family. God requested the presence of our beloved Barbara Grace “Bobbie” and she departed this life. Barbara was preceded death by her parents, Hassan Reed, Sr. & Lubell Reed; daughter Brenda Bullock; siblings, Estella Crawford., Kate Sutter Hassan Reed, Jr.

She leaves a lifetime of love and memories with her children, Lubell (Tommy) Williams of Purcell, OK, Barbara (Willie) Snyder of Byars, OK, Rose (Peter)Richardson of Coweta, OK, Diane Hankins of Dallas, TX, Thomas Hankins, Don Hankins of Atlanta, GA, Linda Wooden of Tulsa, OK, Alice Hankins, Mae Freeman of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Ky Young, Elisia Freeman, Arlandria Freeman, Aaron Snyder, Wendy Berry, Kendra Berry, Marquis Bullock, Eric Albright, Jr. Kimberly Albright, Lawrence Goodwin, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Imani Freeman and Alan Mitchell; siblings, Kay Francis Mickles, Billy Reed, Jimmy Vinson along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
