John’s Life Journey…
John Wright aged 54, boarded the Glory Train on Friday morning, June 16, 2017, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
John was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Wilma and Andrew Bonner. He attended Franklin Junior High School and Southside High School in Munchie, Indiana.
In 1985, while in his early twenties, John followed his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma John worked at Loves Envelopes for nine years and at Charts for nine years as well.
John loved the Lord and united with Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He continued his faith and love for God throughout his life.
Being a parent was one of the greatest joys in John’s life. John parented John, Carlos, and Rachel, and affectionately raised Martin Carter, Gary Carter, and Scott Carter as his own children, sharing the love. He was a family man and at one point a single parent however, he built his life around his children. He was known for being a hard worker and loving father. He later blessed with another son, Nicholas who he loved dearly. John was loved and respected by his, friends, co-workers and family. He will truly be missed.
In his spare time, John was also took great pride in his ability to cook. However, he took equal or even greater pride as a self proclaimed master at creating recipes and delighted in watching how people (his family) whether good or bad savor the flavor of his creations.
John entered into eternal rest on Friday June 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter.
John leaves to mourn his passing, yet cherish his loving memory his parents, Andrew and Wilma Bonner; his daughter, Rachel Wright of Charlotte, NC; sons, John Wright, Carlos Wright and Nicholas Wright all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his children he raised as his own, Martin, Gary and Scott Carter; five grandchildren, two brothers, Antown Warren of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Clifford Carter of Charleston, South Carolina; two sisters, Chalana Royal of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Chalona Carter of Houston, Texas. And a host of other relatives and friends.
