From there, she went to Central High School; graduating class of 1975. She was always on the Honor Roll in High School. CaRita then earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development through Tulsa Community College where she received Bronze Level.

CaRita was saved at the age of fifteen. She was the first out of all her siblings to receive the Lord into her heart. Her twin, LaNita, followed soon after. She attended Page Memorial Church of God in Christ, Bible Way, North Side Christian Center, and Church on the Move.

She was also the assistant director of the after-school program at Lee Elementary for Tulsa Public Schools.

Her hobbies included watching mysteries such as Sherlock Holmes, Alfred Hitchcock, and Criminal Minds. She loved coffee and always had to have a cup in the morning.
