Obituary

On Thursday May 4, 2017 Patricia A. Smith “Began her walk down the streets paved with gold.” Memorial Services will be Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 11:00am in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church North Tulsa. Patricia (Pat) was born on September 18, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the second child born to Mitchell and Ora Lee (Rogers) Thomas. Pat graduated from Booker T. Washington High School as a part of the Class of 1954.
On November 10, 1956, Pat married the love of her life, Marvin O. Smith in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was an active member of First Baptist Church North Tulsa. Pat could be seen singing praises in the Mass Choir or serving in the Mission Group. Pat worked for Sloan Jewelry as well as Tulsa Public Schools where she later retired.

Pat loved to cook and was known for her signature sugar cookies. Her favorite past time as spending time with her grand children, great grandchildren even her great-great grandchildren. She was a tenacious fighter and never saw a problem that she could not overcome.

Pat was a member of the “Soulful Survivors” and the “Elite Ladies Club.” Her favorite song was “Precious Lord”. Pat will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Mitchell and Ora Lee (Rogers) Thomas, her husband; Marvin Othella Smith and son; Marvin O. Smith Jr.,; brothers Joe Thomas, Tom Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Jr. and Kermit Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Stephanie “Cookie” Anderson; sons, Darnell “Ricky” Smith and Aric “Boogie” Smith and (Stormie and Shanna); sister, Annette (Marvin)Thompson; brothers, John Thomas and Lucas Thomas; sisters-in-law, Mary Thomas, Delores Thomas along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
