Obituary

Mrs. Hattie E. “Tuna” Boone “In her 56th season on earth, was called to her new home above the clouds” A Celebration of life:Friday 1:00pm at Metropolitian Baptist Church 1228 West Apache St. Rev. Brian Stallings,Eulogist.

Hattie Evelyn Boone affectionately known as (Tuna), was born on September 29, 1960 to Joshua Alexander of Holmes, Mississippi and Hattie Mae Nichols of West, Mississippi.

Hattie attended Tulsa Public schools and graduated with the Great Class of 78, Booker T Washington. She loved the pride of “Hornets” Orange and Black. Hattie served as a governing officer of the Class Reunions.

After graduating, she met and married Larry Boone Sr. on May 23,1980 and was a devoted wife for 32 years. To this union four beautiful children were born.

At Booker T. Washington, Hattie became a DECA member and thru this program she gained employment with Hillcrest Medical Center, where she was a switchboard operator for 21 years. She later became employed with the Tulsa County Health Department where she retired with 18 years of service.

Hattie accepted the lord at an early age. She loved God and delighted in singing praises from the choir, where she sat under Pastor Brian Stallings at Greater New Faith Ministries. She also loved being responsible for designing the Sunday morning Church programs and providing “Things to make you think”. Hattie was an amazingly strong woman, a loving mother, protecting sister, continuance friend and NEVER encountered a stranger. Her strength was beyond measures, her love for others was all encompassing, with limitless beauty. She was the “Bling Bling Queen” and the Diva didn’t mind Shinning. Hattie loved shoes, jewelry, lunch dates, football games, class reunions and talking with family and friends.

Hattie was preceded in death by her father Joshua Alexander, her mother Hattie Mae Nichols, her step father Edward Lewis and her husband Larry Boone Sr.

She leaves to cherish five children, Darius Boone Sr. (Wynesha), Darian Boone, Talisha Boone (Travis), Larry Boone Jr. (Robyn), and Kiana Taylor Lindsey. Grandchildren Anecia Fowlkes, Maikayla Chambers, Darius Boone Jr, Maikhi Chambers, Lathan Boone, LaTwuan Clayton, Barron Harris Jr, Trevon Boone, Zuri Boone and Lyra Boone. One Great-grandchild Joshua Anderson. Seven siblings Daphane Renae Alexander, Jacqueline Wright, Lanora Kay Daniels, Tammi Daniels, Marvin Alexander, Eddie Williams, and James Williams, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Her final resting place will be Crown-Hill Cemetery. “When caring truly matter, DYER cares.”
