On August 29, 1948 this earth was bestowed the honor of receiving a precious gift, Marcella Monday. Born to Morris and Hazel Monday in Boynton Oklahoma, she was the eighth of nine children. A personality full of charm and charisma she started out early with the ability to inspire others as a student of Boynton public schools and as a member of the First Baptist Church in Boynton. She was united in holy matrimony to Cecil Lee Mason Sr. and to this union seven loving children were born. She was an amazing homemaker and took pride in caring for her family while rearing them up in the admiration of the Lord with loving care. After the time she spent providing care for her now deceased husband she would then join the workforce where she would continue in her gift of providing care to the elderly and the ill allowing her the opportunity to display her gift of exhortation and love. It was certainly the leading of the Lord that Marcella rededicated her life to Christ, and joined Bibleway Church of God in Christ, where the late Supt. Wesley Gamble Sr. served as Senior Pastor. During her tenure at Bibleway she successfully fulfilled the aspiring Missionary requirements earning the recognition of a Licensed Missionary, serving dutifully at Bibleway for more than 15 years. Years later, she joined Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries, where Bishop Harold W. Jones Sr. serves as Senior Pastor. Marcella was elevated in ministry, as a Church Mother, and she served faithfully on the Mothers Board. Mother Marcella Mason served in ministry 20 years laboring passionately and tirelessly through Outreach and Evangelism efforts. During that time she would be led by the Lord to start and host a weekly bible study service from her home where hundreds of young men, women and children attended. Many were saved, delivered, set free and filled with the Holy Ghost. She is preceded in death by her Husband Cecil Lee Mason Sr., her parents and six siblings, Alice Boozer, Ruthie Mae Jeffries, Betty Jean Monday, Narvis Monday, Barbara Ann Monday-Mason, and William Monday. On March 17, 2016 our Savior saw fit to grant our sweet Mother Marcella Mason her reward where she will receive her Crown in paradise and abide with the Lord for eternity. She leaves to cherish her memory one dear and dedicated sister, Marie Robinson of Tulsa, Ok and one brother, Duke Monday (California). She also has a special sister/aunt Irene Freeman and dear Uncle Harold Triggs Sr. Mother Marcella Mason leaves to cherish her legacy of love seven children: Marvis Mason Sr. Tulsa, OK, Andre Mason Sr. Tulsa, OK, Cecil Lee Mason Jr. Tulsa, OK, Raquel Mason Tulsa, OK, David Mason Tulsa, OK, Vernon (Felisha) Mason Lake Worth, TX. and Kimberly (Corey) Standifer Tulsa, OK. She also loved and adored her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In her eyes, all were her favorite! “When caring truly matters, DYER cares.”
