Reflections of Her Life

it was a beautiful summer day August 14, 1936 that a cute little baby girl was born into the loving family of Mr. & Mrs. Clayton Kendricks Sr., in Camden, Arkansas.

Gloria matriculated from the Camden School District, she received her high school education from Lincoln high School, and later went on to become a student at Pine Bluff Beauty College, where she studied, cosmetology.

Over the years Gloria was employed as a Hairdresser and worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Arkansas. During the winter of 1974, Gloria and her family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and found employment with hardens Fried Chicken, Canteen, and Homecare (Audleys). Her children would tell you, that her greatest accomplishments of many would include her being a great mother, and a great neighbor.

Gloria knew no strangers! her favorite saying was “Your mother made you for me”. Gloria was also an avid bible reader and one of her favorite scriptures was 1 John 4:8. He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love. Gloria reared her children with a strong and loving hand, however it was those same biblical principles she instilled into her children lives. Gloria spent quality time with her children, and leisurely enjoyed fishing- fishing-fishing, reading and dancing.

On Monday, may 13, 2013, Gloria departed this life and went home to eternal rest. She was met at heaven’s gate by many of her family members, including her parents.

Those left behind to cherish her memories: Her siblins L.J. Kendricks; Clayton Kendricks Jr; Kamie Kendricks; Leotis Kendricks; Leon Kendricks; Elrie Kendricks, Morehead; Mary Kendricks Butler.
