Obituary

Death is just a natural thing like the closing of a door as we start upon a journey to a new and distant shore. so let your grief be softened and yield not to despair, Janie has been placed in the loving Father’s care. Life on earth is a transient affair, just a few brief years in which to prepare for a life that is free from pain and tears, where time is not counted by years.

Janie was born in Streetman, Texas, and was the daughter of Oliver and Vera Cyrus. She professed her faith and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.

The ideas and moral values by which Janie lived throughout her life formed a lasting record worthy of admiration.

On Monday, November 21, 2011, a quiet, disciplined life came to a close when Janie was called home to eternal rest.

To forever cherish her memory, Janie leaves her sons, Kyle Royce Peterson (Lillian), Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Larry Lenell Peterson (Emma), Decatur Georgia.

Seven grandchildren, Rochelle, Keith, LaShonda, and Chad Peterson. Sabrina Bush, Michael Bush, & Crystal Smith. Five great-grandchildren, Tori, Keith Jr., Kyle, Nikayla, and Justin. Also her half sister, Ruby Knowles, Minneapolis, MN. and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. at Dyer Memorial Chapel.

Services are scheduled for Monday November 28, 2011 11:00 am at Dyer Memorial Chapel. Final resting place for Janie, Green Acres Memorial Garden.
